What is the www.gov.sg app?
The www.gov.sg app provides another avenue for you to access the latest Government news and announcements. It is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store through iTunes to be installed on your iPhone or iPod touch running on OS3.1.2 and above.
What features does this app offer?
It delivers the latest Singapore Government news and events information. You could also access the Government directory and key Government feedback platforms on this app.
How do I receive content through the app?
Using WiFi or 3G connectivity, the www.gov.sg app will download the latest content directly to your device.
Do I have to pay for the app?
No. The app can be downloaded free-of-charge. The content is also free. However, you may incur data charges from your service provider if you use your 3G in the absence of a WiFi connection when downloading the app or content via the www.gov.sg app.
Can I use the app to view the content while I am travelling?
Yes. However, note that in the absence of a WiFi connection, the app will use network connection on your iPhone to access and download content. Normal network data rates will apply, and roaming charges too, if you are travelling overseas.
Can I use the www.gov.sg app to view the content even if I do not have any wireless or 3G connection?
Yes. However, you will be able to access only offline content from your last download. Content requiring network connectivity will not be available.
I can’t seem to be able to download the www.gov.sg app
Your device must run on operating system version 3.1.2 and above. The version of your device can be found by plugging the device into your computer and looking at the appropriate device's Summary page in iTunes. You can also check your device’s system version at Settings -> General -> About -> Version.
Can I use the www.gov.sg app on other devices?
The app works only on the iPhone or iPod Touch that run on operating system version 3.1.2 and above. It cannot be used on other mobile devices and any other iPod devices.
How do I remove the www.gov.sg app from my iPhone?
To remove the www.gov.sg app, follow the same procedure that you would use for any other iPhone application. Press and hold the "www.gov.sg" application icon until it begins to wiggle. Press the "X" in the corner of the icon and confirm the deletion in the window that appears.
Why is the www.gov.sg app content not updated?
If the content is not being updated, please check that you are connected to the Internet. You could also re-start or re-install the application.
