Empowering all in health and wellbeing
A national social movement spurring Singaporeans to harness good health
08 Mar 2018
Active Health is a national social movement to spur Singaporeans to take ownership of their health and wellness. It will support Singaporeans in developing better health habits, as well as empower all on their personalised journey towards better and fitter living.
The first Active Health Lab, launched at Our Tampines Hub, saw over 1,200 participants during its pilot phase in August – December 2017. Shortly after, an even larger Active Health Lab spanning three floors was opened at Bedok, boasting a kitchen and direct access to the swimming pool.
More Active Health Labs
4 more Active Health Labs will be rolled out in 2018, to enable more Singaporeans to take charge of their quality of life. They will be at Bishan, Jurong East, Sengkang, and Woodlands, to be accessible to Singaporeans.
Deepening knowledge and understanding of personal fitness
Trained Active Health Experts staff the Labs to support Singaporeans in understanding more about their fitness levels, and the best exercises which suit them. Singaporeans can arrange for follow-up sessions with these Active Health experts, to obtain feedback that will help them stay healthy and keep active proactively.
Expanding outreach to empower all
To reach out to a wider segment of the population, Active Health Mobile Labs will now go into communities. MCCY will partner the People’s Association to bring these Mobile Labs to the Community Centres, Residents’ Committees, and Sports-in-Precinct facilities. There will also be Active Health exercise information guides installed at upcoming Sports-in-Precinct facilities in HDB precincts. MCCY is also developing a mobile platform that brings together Singaporeans, their doctors, Active Health experts, and fellow Active Health users.
