Terms and Conditions for National Day 2023 Gov.sg Instagram Contest

Eligibility:

1. The National Day 2023 Gov.sg Instagram Contest (the “contest”) is organised by the Ministry of Communications and Information (“MCI”), and is open to all Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents. Employees of the MCI, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, are not eligible to participate in the contest.

3. The contest starts on 18 July 2023, and ends 23 July 2023, 11:59 pm, UTC +8.  All entries must be received by 23 July 2023, 11:59 pm, UTC +8.
4. By submitting an entry, you (hereinafter also referred to as the "Contestant") agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these terms and conditions. You represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, you agree to accept as final and binding, the decisions of MCI in relation to this contest.

Contest mechanics:

5. Your entry must fulfil all contest requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to these terms and conditions or any other rules or specifications issued by MCI, may, at any time and at any stage of the contest, at the sole discretion of MCI, be disqualified from the contest.
6. To enter:
   1. Follow Gov.sg’s Instagram Account - @gov.sg;
   2. Like the Gov.sg’s Instagram post featuring the contest;
   3. Leave a comment on Gov.sg’s Instagram post featuring the contest; and
   4. State in your comment who you would like to bring to the National Day Parade 2023, and why.
7. You warrant that your entry is original and has been created by you. By submitting the entry, you further agree to be liable to MCI in respect of any violation, infringement or alleged infringement by you, of the confidentiality, patent, copyright or any other intellectual property rights of any other party. You further agree to indemnify and hold MCI harmless from and against any actions (including third party actions), claims, loss or damages that MCI may suffer or incur as a result of any such violation, infringement or alleged infringement.
8. Only one entry is allowed per person. Where more than one entry is submitted by one person (whether through one or multiple Instagram accounts), MCI will consider only the first entry that has been submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Judging Criteria:

9. Entries will be judged based on how creative and interesting the Contestants’ submitted eligible comments are.
10. Five winners (the “Winners” and each a “Winner”) will be chosen by an internal judging panel of officers from MCI.

Winning entries:

11. Winning entries may be adapted into a Gov.sg social media post by MCI . MCI also reserves the right to tag the social media handles of the Winners and/or any other Contestants on Gov.sg’s social media accounts. 
12. The Winners will each receive a pair of tickets to the preview show of the National Day Parade on 29th July 2023 (the “prize”) Winners will be contacted directly by Instagram direct message from the “@Gov.sg” Instagram account by 24 July 2023.
13. If any Winner does not respond to MCI’s direct message (as described in clause 12 above) within 24 hours, MCI reserves the right to award that Winner’s prize to the next qualifying Contestant. The results and all decisions made by MCI are final and binding, and MCI shall not entertain any correspondence in this regard.
14. Winners must collect their prizes from MCI at 140 Hill St, Singapore 179369, within the period from 25 to27 July 2023, between 10am-12pm and 2pm-5pm. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the affected Winner’s prize.

Other terms and conditions:

16. Subject to clause 18 below, any personal Information provided by you for purposes of the contest, will be protected in accordance with the Singapore Government Privacy Policy.
17. You understand and agree that:
    1. MCI, or anyone acting on behalf of MCI, shall have the right to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, for the next two years and throughout the world, without limitation, your entry, for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes, without need for compensation, notice, review, or consent;
    2. MCI, or anyone acting on behalf of MCI, may use your name, image, identification, entry, as well as other statements/comments made by you in relation to the contest, for the purpose of announcing the Winners, or for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes, without need for any compensation, notice, review or consent;
    3. You shall waive any moral rights or rights of identification that you may have in your entry or any part thereof, in respect of any use, publication or dissemination of your entry (or any part thereof) by MCI in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
18. MCI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest should virus, bug, non-authorised human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond MCI’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the contest. In such case, MCI may select the Winners from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by MCI. MCI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the contest or violates these terms & conditions.
19. You agree to release and hold harmless MCI and its advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) your participation in the contest and/or your acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorised human intervention in any part of the contest; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the contest.
20. MCI reserves the right at any time, to change, modify or supplement these Terms and Conditions or any part thereof. The changed, modified or supplemented Terms and Conditions shall be posted here.
