Support for Seniors

The Government has put in place a comprehensive suite of measures to provide our seniors security and comfort in their silver years. As our seniors adjust to the rising prices, more support will also be available to provide them with greater assurance in their retirement.

MediSave top-up

Eligible seniors aged 65 and above in 2022 will receive GSTV – MediSave of $150 - $450 in August 2022. This will be credited to your CPF MediSave Account which can be used to pay for your hospitalisation expenses and approved outpatient treatments listed on the CPF website.

To further support seniors with their healthcare expenses, MediSave top-ups worth $450 will be disbursed to Singaporean seniors 55 years and above from 2023 to 2025 as part of the $6.6 billion Assurance Package.

Cash Payout for Seniors

Under the Assurance Package, the special GST Voucher – Cash (Seniors’ Bonus) will help less well-off seniors defray the impending rise in GST. Cash payouts ranging from $600 to $900 will be disbursed to eligible seniors starting from 2023, over a period of 3 years.

Silver Support Scheme

As part of the Government’s commitment to providing seniors greater assurance in retirement, the Silver Support Scheme supports seniors aged 65 and above who had low incomes during their working years and now have less in their retirement. Eligible seniors will receive cash supplements of up to $900 every three months.

Pioneer and Merdeka Generation Packages

Our seniors have worked hard to shape Singapore into what it is today. To thank them for their contributions, the Pioneer and Merdeka Generation Packages support the aspirations and health of Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) seniors by keeping healthcare affordable.

PG and MG seniors will receive $200 to $900 MediSave top-up in July 2022 to ensure that seniors have access to affordable, quality healthcare in their silver years. Seniors who have serious pre-existing conditions will receive further top-ups of $50 to $200 per year from 2021 to 2025 to help pay their higher MediShield Life premiums.

Seniors' Mobility and Enabling Fund

The Seniors' Mobility and Enabling Fund provides subsidies for less well-off Singaporean seniors who require assistive devices such as wheelchair, walking sticks or home healthcare items so they can age actively within their communities.
