Enhanced Support for Singaporeans in Response to the Middle East Situation
In a Ministerial Statement on 7 April 2026, Senior Minister of State for Finance Jeffrey Siow announced enhanced support measures for Singaporeans, workers and businesses. Watch his Ministerial Statement.
On 29 July 2026, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Jeffrey Siow and Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling announced the second package of support measures for Singaporean households and businesses.
Support for Singaporeans and Households
First package (announced on 7 April 2026):
$500 CDC Vouchers brought forward to Jun 2026
$400 to $600 Cost-of-Living Special Payment in Sep 2026
$200 cash relief for eligible platform workers, private hire car drivers and taxi drivers from Apr 2026
Second package (announced on 29 July 2026):
[New] $300 CDC Vouchers in Jan 2027
[Enhanced] Up to $190 of additional U-Save rebates (Oct 2026 and Jan 2027) for eligible HDB households
[Enhanced] ComCare Interim Assistance for lower-income households (Aug – Dec 2026)
At least $250 per month (up to 3 months)
More flexible income eligibility criteria
Support for Businesses
First package (announced on 7 April 2026):
Temporary co-funding of cost increases for essential bus services such as those for school students, seniors, and persons with disabilities
Increase Corporate Income Tax rebate to 50% for Year of Assessment 2026
Raise minimum benefit to $2,000 for eligible companies
Raise benefits cap to $40,000 per company
Expand Energy Efficiency Grant (Base Tier) to all sectors and extend to 31 Mar 2028
Second package (announced on 29 July 2026):
[Enhanced] Enterprise Financing Scheme (Sep 2026 – Mar 2027)
SME Working Capital Loan: Government risk-share increased to 70%
Project Loan: Government risk-share increased to 70%, and extended to domestic construction projects
[New] SME Cash Grant 2026 (Nov 2026)
$500 per local employee for eligible SMEs, capped at $2,500 per SME
[New] Rental support for stalls in market and hawker centres managed by Government and Government-appointed operators (Sep 2026 – Feb 2027)
$1,200 per cooked food stall and $600 per market stall disbursed over six months
