At this year’s National Day Rally (NDR 2026), Prime Minister Lawrence Wong highlighted the changed global context today and outlined the Government’s plans to build a stronger Singapore. His speech covered four key themes:
Strengthening Our Families: Enhance childcare leave, and financial, caregiving and housing assistance.
Embracing Technology: Adopt new technology, while putting safeguards in place and ensuring that people remain at the centre.
Staying Open and Connected: Refresh Singapore’s population at a measured and sustainable pace, while retaining our identity and values.
Future-Ready Singapore: Develop our outer islands to plan for future needs.
