At National Day Rally (NDR) 2026, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced that the Government will embrace new technology, while putting safeguards in place and ensuring that people will always remain at the centre.
What Does This Mean for You?
For All Singaporeans
In transport, more autonomous vehicles will be progressively scaled up to help ease manpower constraints, meet growing transport needs and keep services reliable.
In healthcare,
Eligible Singaporeans will have access to personalised, AI-generated exercise plans through Healthier SG.
AI can help Singaporeans detect diseases, such as cancers, more accurately.
For Workers
Workers affected by technological change will be provided with retraining and support to transition into new opportunities.
For Parents and Youth
The minimum age of 13 years old for social media users will be enforced on social media platforms.
Social media platforms will have to put in place robust and reliable checks to enforce the minimum age of 13 and ensure safe online experiences for all users aged 13 to under 18.
